WHAT IS NARCAN?
Narcan is a life saving medication that reverses the effects of an opioid related overdose within 20 minutes.

WHO SHOULD BE TRAINED?
Everyone! Opioid addiction effects our community as a whole. This life saving information is for everyone. Teachers, students, restaurant workers, counselors, coaches, police officers, correctional officers, librarians, retail clerks, etc.
911 GOOD SAMARITAN
New York State 911 Good Samaritan Law encourages people to call 911 if they are witnessing an overdose and provides protection against some prosecutions.
Protected: up to 8 ounces of a controlled substance, any amount of marijuana, under age drinking, having drug paraphernalia.
Not Protected: open warrants for arrest, voilations of probation or parole, intent to sell, and over 8 ounces of a controlled substance.
HOW TO GET TRAINING
Credo Community Center Narcan Trainers can provide an individualized training based on your needs. Free Narcan kits can be provided if you choose or just the knowledge of how to identify and respond to an opioid overdose.
